Important IRS Updates

The tax filing deadline has been extended to July 15, 2020.

Economic Impact Payments

The Economic Impact Payment will be based on your 2019 tax return. If you have not filed for 2019, it will be based on your 2018 return. If you have not filed for either of these years, we recommend filing immediately so that you can claim your EIP benefit.

This is an automatic payment that requires no action on the part of the taxpayer unless you need to update direct deposit or address information with the Internal Revenue Service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I eligible for a stimulus check?

Generally, everyone who has filed taxes for 2018 or 2019 or received an SSA-1099 will be screened by the IRS for eligibility. If you have not filed because you did not make enough money, please visit the IRS Economic Impact Payments page to submit your information.

There are a few groups who will not be eligible for this payment:

  • Anyone without a social security number
  • People who are in arrears for child support

We are unable to guarantee any amount for your stimulus check, however, we recommend using this tool to estimate your payment.

Where can I check the status of my stimulus payment?

Please use the IRS portal here to check the status of your deposit or input your direct deposit information to receive your payment directly into your account. If you receive an error message, it does not mean that you do not qualify. You may have to wait to receive your payment by mail in the form of a check.

How do I get my payment?

Receiving a stimulus check will not require any action for most taxpayers. SSA-1099 recipients who do not file will automatically be added to the list of people to receive the payment.
